This is Brooke DePinto, the principal of Harkers Island Elementary School calling with some important information for the coming week. The weekly All Call is sent out to Harkers Island families every Sunday evening and the script for the call can be located on our school website and Facebook page.

Week of February 2-6 - National School Counseling Week
Monday, February 2nd - SNOW DAY! NO SCHOOL!
Tuesday, February 3rd - Reading Check-ins (3-5)
Wednesday, February 4th - Science Check-In (5th)
Thursday, February 5th - Math Check-in (3-5)
Friday, February 6th - 100th Day of School, Glow Party, 4th Grade Field Trip to History Museum
Inclement Weather Updates: Monday, February 2 is a snow day for students! Teachers sent home remote learning work last week, but please do not do this work on Monday. Monday is made for playing in the snow, because we will make this day up on February 16 (Calendar Workday). If we need to be out of school additional days this week for inclement weather, these will likely be remote school days and your child will do the work provided on these days. For now, enjoy Monday and we will keep you updated!
NC Check-ins: Our mid-year NC Check-ins for 3rd-5th Grades are scheduled for next week. These dates will likely be adjusted depending on schedule changes due to weather. We will update our families when we know more.
National School Counseling Week: This week National School Counseling Week and we are so thankful to have Ms. Lindsay at our school. Please take a moment to send her a message of thanks for all that she does to support our students and families!
Glow Party: PTO will be hosting a Glow Party on Friday, February 6 from 5:30-7. Students, siblings, and families are invited to attend. The cost is $5 and includes pizza, drink, popcorn, and glow fun! Information went home in student folders last week. Let us know if you plan to attend!!
