Good Evening Islander families,
This is Brooke DePinto, the principal of Harkers Island Elementary School calling with some important information for the coming week. The weekly All Call is sent out to Harkers Island families every Sunday evening and the script for the call can be located on our school website and Facebook page.
Upcoming Dates to Note:
Wednesday, January 28th - Report Cards go home
Thursday, January 29th - PBIS Coin Store, Quarter 2 Awards
Friday, January 30th - PBIS Field Trip to Altitude Trampoline Park
Report Cards: Quarter 2 report cards will go home on Wednesday, which means we are halfway through our year! This is a great time to discuss strengths and opportunities for growth with your child to take into the second half of our school year. Please make sure to sign and return your child's report card envelope and contact the teacher with any questions. Teachers will be reaching out if they would like for you to attend a mid-year conference.
PBIS Updates (Letter): Our Quarter 2 positive behavior field trip is this Friday! Students may bring water bottles and snacks (no electronics please!). No hoodies or jewelry are allowed in the jump park. Quarter 3 started on Thursday, 1/22 and goes through 3/27. Our third quarter trip will be to the movies and participation will be based on the guidelines below. A Quarter 3 contract will be coming home on Monday, so please make sure to sign and return these!

No more than 1 Office Referral
No more than 3 documented minor incidents
No more than 6 Unexcused absences and/or tardies.
Glow Party: PTO will be hosting a Glow Party on Friday, February 6 from 5:30-7. Students, siblings, and families are invited to attend. The cost is $5 and includes pizza, drink, popcorn, and glow fun! More information to come in student folders on Monday!
