Harkers Island Elementary School

Good Evening Islander families,

This is Brooke DePinto, the principal of Harkers Island Elementary School calling with some important information for the coming week. The weekly All Call is sent out to Harkers Island families every Sunday evening and the script for the call can be located on our school website and Facebook page. 

Upcoming Dates to Note: 

• Monday, January 19^th - MLK Holiday (NO SCHOOL)

• Tuesday, January 20^th - Teacher Workday (NO SCHOOL)

• Wednesday, January 21^st - Teacher Workday (NO SCHOOL)

PBIS Field Trip: Our Quarter 2 positive behavior field trip is coming up! The number one field trip choice for our students was to go to Altitude Trampoline Park and we are excited to announce that we will be taking this trip on January 30. This trip will be $20 and will include 2 hours of jump time, a pair of socks, pizza and water. Information and permission slips went home last week. Please send back all paperwork and money at the same time (by Friday, January 23) and remember the following criteria for Quarter 2 (October 28-January 16) must be met for students to participate in our field trip:

• No OSS or Bus Suspensions

• No more than 1 Office Referral

• No more than 3 documented minor incidents

• No more than 6 Unexcused absences and/or tardies.

Glow Party: PTO will be hosting a Glow Party on Friday, February 6 from 5:30-7. Students, siblings, and families are invited to attend. The cost is $5 and includes pizza, drink, popcorn, and glow fun! More information to come home in student folders!
