Good Evening Islander families,
This is Brooke DePinto, the principal of Harkers Island Elementary School calling with some important information for the coming week. The weekly All Call is sent out to Harkers Island families every Sunday evening and the script for the call can be located on our school website and Facebook page.
Upcoming Dates to Note:
Monday, December 8th - Progress Reports (3rd-5th), PTO (Santa's Workshop Setup 4:30-7)
Tuesday, December 9th - Santa's Workshop Preview
Wednesday, December 10th - Friday, December 12th - Santa's Workshop Shopping
Sunday, December 14th - Down East Christmas Parade
Progress Reports: Third through fifth grade students will get 2nd Quarter progress reports on Monday, December 8. This is a great time to talk with your child about how they are doing in school, celebrating their accomplishments and making a plan for any improvements for the second half of the quarter.
Santa's Workshop: Our PTO is sponsoring Santa's Workshop this week! All students will have an opportunity to preview the shop on Tuesday and can bring money to buy gifts for friends and family Wednesday-Friday. This is a great way for our students to get gifts for those they love, while supporting our PTO!
Christmas Parade: The Down East Christmas Parade is in Harker's Island this year! The parade is on Sunday, December 14 and we will have a float (boat) in the parade and would love to have some students join us! Look out for more information this week if you would like to participate!
Christmas Program: Our annual Christmas program will be on Tuesday, December 16 at 1 PM in the gym. All of our students will have a special part in the program and our families are invited to join us. There may just be a surprise Santa visit too!
