Good Evening Islander families,
This is Brooke DePinto, the principal of Harkers Island Elementary School calling with some important information for the coming week. The weekly All Call is sent out to Harkers Island families every Sunday evening and the script for the call can be located on our school website and Facebook page.
Upcoming Dates to Note:
● Monday, October 27th - Red Ribbon Week: Wear RED, Last Day of Quarter 1, Jack Tales for 3-5
● Tuesday, October 28th - Red Ribbon Week: Wear TEAM apparel
● Wednesday, October 29th - Red Ribbon Week: Wear crazy SOCKS
● Thursday, October 30th - Red Ribbon Week: Wear PAJAMAS, PBIS Coin Store open
● Friday, October 31st - Red Ribbon Week: Wear COSTUMES, Early Release @ 12
Quarter 2 Expectations and Reward Trip - Quarter 2 starts on Tuesday, October 28. Everyone starts with a clean slate and we really want all students to be eligible for our Quarter 2 trip to the TRAMPOLINE PARK! An updated letter will come home in Monday folders next week. Please use this to talk to your child about our behavior and attendance expectation requirements for our next quarterly reward trip.
Spirit Days - October is a busy month of celebration, including Unity Day, Breast Cancer Awareness, Red Ribbon Week, and Halloween! We will wrap up the month with the the following spirit days:
● October 27-31: Red Ribbon Week
○ Monday, 10/27:Wear RED to show you make great decisions!
○ Tuesday, 10/28: Team up against bad choices by wearing TEAM APPAREL
○ Wednesday, 10/29: Make great choices from head-to-toe by wearing FUN SOCKS
○ Thursday, 10/30: Make your dreams come true by wearing PAJAMAS
○ Friday, 10/31: Wear a school-appropriate COSTUME for Halloween (NO excessive gore, face masks/coverings, weapons or inflatable costumes)
Looking Ahead - Go ahead and mark your calendar for these November dates:
● November 3: Report Cards go home
● November 6: Q1 Reward Trip to Fort Benjamin Park, PTO Meeting @ 6
● November 10-11: Student holidays (NO SCHOOL)
● November 20: Thanksgiving Lunch
● November 26-28: Thanksgiving Holidays (NO SCHOOL)
